Indie Artist Spotlight: Jefe Stone

What’s important to me isn’t “being” an artist, what's important to me is living out my truths with the creative talents i was blessed with since birth! ~Jefe Stone

Q. How did you get your start in music?

A. I got my start in music as early as i can remember. Every time in the car my mom would let me blast the music and i had a skill to remember the lyrics to all the songs on the radio at the time! With those skills i started writing poetry around 11/12. I did that on and off then in Middle School i became friends with a kid Named “Lil-Jump” and this Kid knew how to record music, he could dance, he could record/shoot/edit his own videos & HE HAD A YOUTUBE! Seeing all this at a young age I’m thinking to myself i can definitely do this. So from that point on the creating process began!

Q. What message are you sending through your music?

A. The message(s) that i convey in my music are nothing but things i’ve learned throughout my life and things that have helped me. Relatability is KEY in my music I personally feel. If someone can relate to what your saying it’ll hit them deeper and i know that from experience.

Q. When do you feel most creative?

A. I feel MOST creative at times where i’m around my brothers! I’ve been creating with the same group of people for almost 10 years now and the levels of understanding after all of these recording sessions have turned into nothing but great music! Also when i’m alone i do also feel super creative and tuned in because i usually have zero distractions. Once i feel the creative juices flowing i usually just let God take over!

Q. Who are your biggest musical influences?

A. My musical influences come from all around to be honest. Growing up Wiz Khalifa was always my favorite/most influential. Why? honestly He’s super cool! His production from Sledgren & Cardo has ALWAYS been top tier! I always felt nobody had a beat selection like Wiz. Growing up i look to different areas of music not just Rap. Some names that influence me are J. Cole, MGMT, Kid Cudi, Kanye West, & Jay-Z. Kanye Particularly because him as a producer. Jay, Just all over the board Jay-Z is Goated!

Q. What makes you unique?

A. What makes me unique as a artist is EVERYTHING that we do EVERYTHING that you hear will be done in-house. Meaning we have all the files for the beats we make, the lyrics i write and our master sessions. Everything that we do comes straight from the heart and we don’t look to sound like anyone. If the music sounds great then we love it!

Q. What do you think people enjoy most about your music?

A. What i think people enjoy about my music is the Relatability like i mentioned earlier . Off top from the first lines on all of my verses the things i mention are straight from my real life. I also know from compliments that my flow is pretty damn solid. You can hear the passion and the drive in my voice when i speak behind the microphone.

Q. Why is being an artist important to you?

A. What’s important to me isn’t “being” an artist, what's important to me is living out my truths with the creative talents i was blessed with since birth! That's important to me because i don’t feel like I’m leaving anything untouched as an individual. I want to make sure i give the BEST that i have to give at literally everything that i do! Creating Music, Visual Art, Producing, Writing & Living at most times all feel like parts of me using my artistic creations!
